Patrick Young

Since 1991, he has been an independent trader, initially on LIFFE in London and subsequently away from the floor since 1994. Once off the floor, he traded from London before moving to Italy a few years ago.

In addition to his trading experience, Young has been a consultant to various leading organisations including the LIFFE exchange and several major international banks.

Patrick launched the unique global world wide web-based magazine Applied Derivatives Trading in 1996. The magazine now has over 13,000 readers every month in some 128 countries world-wide and is free to access at http://www.adtrading.com. It combines a cutting edge reputation for analysis with a direct, trader friendly editorial style.

Patrick’s first book "Capital Market Revolution – the future of markets in an online world" was published by Financial Times Prentice Hall in July of this year. Within weeks "CMR" had become "must read" material in the boardrooms of exchanges and investment houses throughout the world.

An experienced conference speaker, Patrick is appearing at Burgenstock as part of the first leg of his autumn book promotion tour where he will be visiting a number of countries across the globe including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia, and the USA from coast to coast, discussing the "Capital Market Revolution."

A regular on network and satellite radio and television, Young is a director of Peerless films, an Anglo-Australian independent production company and a consulting adviser to Black Tulip Investments, an offshore fund manager.

Patrick is a lifelong classic car enthusiast, having dealt in old racing cars while at school. He worked as a professional automotive photojournalist before entering the city of London. An occasional classic rally competitor when time permits, Young is also a devotee of ballet and opera.
