John Wall was appointed President of Nasdaq International, Ltd., in October 1997. He is responsible for the strategic development and international marketing of The Nasdaq Stock Market expansion and services as well as overseas foreign company listings. Mr. Wall has had an active role in Nasdaq since its inception in 1971 and has served as Executive Vice President since 1982 when he began to concentrate on activities and initiatives to advance automation and promote Nasdaq worldwide. Among the initiatives that he spearheaded: • Initiation of international linkages between The Nasdaq Stock Market and overseas markets. Mr. Wall joined the NASD in 1965 as an examiner in the regulatory division. From 1976 to 1982, he was Senior Vice President of the newly created Compliance Division and he was also spent two years in the Surveillance Division. Mr. Wall has served on a number of industry committees and boards and currently sits on the EASDAQ and National Securities Clearing Corporation Boards.
