Dr. Albert Bressand


Dr. Albert Bressand is Managing Director of PROMETHEE, a Paris-based think-tank working on the global networked economy, that he co-founded in 1985 and that The Economist has ranked among the world’s twenty “good think-tanks”.

Dr. Bressand holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.

He is a member of the Board of Economists of TIME magazine and an adviser to the International Economy Magazine in Washington D.C., to Politique Internationale in Paris and to CSIS in Washington (“The United States and the New Global Economy” project). As a fellow of the World Economic Forum in Davos he has chaired sessions on electronic finance, “networked markets”, the euro and globalization.

His recent publications include The Euro at the Vanguard of Global Integration (Paris, Prométhée and Ernst & Young International, 1998), Europe 2012, globalisation et cohésion sociale: les scénarios luxembourgeois (Paris, Economica, 1997 with a team of economists from Luxembourg), La Planète Relationnelle (Flammarion, 1995, with Catherine Distler).
