Jake Pugh

Jake Pugh has over twenty years direct experience in the equity and fixed income markets, both trading and broking, including managing money within the Alternative Investment market as a CTA.

Jake was floor manager for Drexel Burnham on LIFFE before going 'local' in 1986. After two years in the 'pit', Jake traded remotely until 1992 and then managed client money, as a CTA until 1997.

Between 1997 and 2003 Jake worked as a strategic consultant within the Barclays group, managing large and diverse teams of line staff and externals. He worked on numerous business launches and on business development projects, spanning the range of underlying products offered within the Barclays Group.

Between 2003 and 2006 Jake was Managing Director of the Futures business at ICAP. In that time he created a GCM in the US and Europe, built an integrated sales model spanning global locations, launched a Hedge Fund and developed another alternative trading business. Jake was also responsible for the day to day management of the business and the management of all external relationships with regulators, exchanges and vendors.

Since leaving ICAP he has been working with a Corporate Finance advisory firm and also carrying out strategic consultancy assignments. Jake advises Exchanges, market infrastructure and e-commerce firms; he also has an extensive buyside network and advises Hedge Funds on a number of strategic and operational issues.

Jake's principal product experience is in the Exchange Traded derivatives market. He understands the ETD model intimately and understands the business from all dimensions: buy-side, sell-side, exchange and service provider.

Jake's time at ICAP gave him exposure to the breadth of products covered by an inter-dealer broker and a detailed understanding of the business models adopted in the OTC markets.
