Kesara Manchusree

Kesara Manchusree has over 20 years' experience in various areas of the Thai capital market. She started at the Ministry of Finance, then moved to the Bank of Thailand, where she monitored the foreign exchange market. At Standard Chartered Securities Asia Ltd., she was first securities analyst, then Assistant Research Manager. She then headed SG - Asia Credit PCL's provident fund business, with USD 200 million under management. She joined the Thai Bond Dealing Centre as Senior Executive Vice President, leading her team to introduce many performance evaluation tools and industry benchmarks still in use today, including corporate bond indices and market yields.

In 2003, Manchusree joined The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) to set up its bond electronic trading platform, thus increasing the market's choice of investments, broadening the investor base and raising liquidity. She became Managing Director of a key SET subsidiary, Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX), in 2004. TFEX is the only financial derivative exchange in Thailand, covering both futures and options of equities, bonds, interest rates, foreign exchange rates, and non-agricultural commodities. TFEX started its operation on April 28, 2006 with the SET50 Index futures as the first product. SET50 Index Futures has shown continuous growth in terms of volume and open interest. Trading value accounts about 15% of stock market trading volume during the first year of operation. TFEX's product plan includes SET50 Index options, individual stock options, interest-rate based products and foreign exchange products.

Manchusree earned her economics degree from Thammasat University, Thailand, and her M.S. (Finance) from Golden Gate University, USA.
