Mr. B.C. Khatua, took over as the Chairman, Forward Markets Commission of India on 31st May 2007. Mr. Khatua is an MBA in Development Finance & Accounting from Birmingham University, U.K. He also holds another MBA degree in Financial Management from the Mumbai University, India. He was posted as Commissioner of Sales Tax of Maharashtra State before taking over as Chairman, FMC. Mr. Khatua has wide experience in public Administration in the fields of infrastructure, urban development, industry and finance and has handled prestigious assignments in the Government of India and State Government of Maharashtra. He has done pioneering work in the field of water and sanitation, technology upgradation and in revival of the Indian textile industry and introduction of the value added tax (VAT) system.
