Following his studies in the fields of business administration and economics - and after a stint with Credit Suisse Baden - Rolf Bertschi began his career as a financial investment analyst in the investment department at Credit Suisse Zurich in October 1980. From 1980 to 1982, he worked as a fixed-income analyst. In 1982, Mr. Bertschi moved to the equity research group, where he carried out analyses of various US companies in several industries, ranging from utilities to electronics and defense. In 1987, he began building up the technical research group. In 1992, Mr. Bertschi was promoted to Director of Technical Research at Schweizerischen Kreditanstalt until the restructuring of the Credit Suisse Group in 1996, when he moved to Credit Suisse First Boston, supporting the sales force with technical research recommendations. Since December 1997, he has been with Credit Suisse Private Banking, where he is responsible for the banks' technical research in Zurich and Singapore and for publishing several state-of-the-art research publications. In addition, Mr. Bertschi is a frequent speaker at investment conferences in Switzerland and abroad. Since 2002 Mr. Bertschi has been a member of the Credit Suisse Investment Committee and in January 2006 was promoted as Managing Director.
