Ed Morse joined Lehman Brothers in July 2006. Morse’s career in the petroleum sector spans three decades during which as observer and participant he played an active role in dealing with rapidly changing commercial conditions. Just before joining Lehman, Morse spent seven years at Hess Energy Trading Company, where he provided strategic advice to the firm and its clients on oil and natural gas markets. For the decade before that he was publisher of Petroleum Intelligence Weekly and other industry newsletters as well as CEO of Energy Intelligence Group. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, where he taught for six years before joining the senior research staff at the Council on Foreign Relations. During the Carter and Reagan administrations, Morse was at the Department of State, including Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Energy Policy. He represented the United States at the International Energy Agency. Included in his industry experience is a management position at Phillips Petroleum and co-founder of PFC Energy in Washington DC.
