Bürgenstock 2007 in Montreux > Introduction

Join us at Bürgenstock Meeting in Montreux in September !

How time flies…. We just closed down the last Bürgenstock conference and already are deep in the planning of the next one. This upcoming forum will not be held on Bürgenstock as the resort will be closed for at least two years for an extensive re-furbishing and upgrading. It will take place in Montreux where we already paid visit once in 1990 as part of Bürgenstock was rebuilt.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Dubai as our guest of honor. I really look forward to that. It is not only an area growing fabulously fast economically but also quickly establishing itself as a very important financial centre. No doubt this will give us not only interesting topics for discussion but also a different kind of evening during the guest night!

I cordially invite you to attend this conference, a unique gathering of representatives and members of exchanges, clearing organizations, market participants, supporting organizations and regulatory agencies in this very special environment.

We have slightly adjusted the schedule. We will start Wednesday with the special events of the Regulator’s Meeting and the Emerging Market Forum before we officially open the conference in the late afternoon. A broad range of topics will be discussed in the following two days. We have no doubt that not only the panel discussions will be interesting, but the ensuing discussions rewarding and stimulating.

As in the past and to keep up with our reputation, excellent social programs will enhance the formal business sessions. The traditional guest country night will be on Thursday evening and the Gala on Friday evening, allowing participants to return home on Saturday (unless, of course, they want to take in the splendor of the surroundings of Lake Geneva!).

I take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all of you that have supported us in the past and those who do it again this year. Without your help and generosity it would be impossible for us to keep the standard set! I am confident that it will be a memorable event again this year.
