Michael A. Walinskas

Michael Walinskas is a Senior Vice President with The Options Clearing Corporation in charge of Strategy and Business Development. Mr. Walinskas is also the Executive Director of the Options Industry Council, an industry cooperative that promotes the use of U.S. listed equity options. He also serves as an advisor to the SIA Options Committee. Mr. Walinskas previously coordinated the activities of the United States Securities Markets Coalition, a group led by OCC that represents the collective interests of the U.S. options exchanges on legislative and regulatory matters.

Before joining OCC in 1999, Mr. Walinskas was an Associate Director with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C, where he served in the Commission’s Division of Market Regulation. Mr. Walinskas played a key role in the development of the Commission’s positions on many important equity and derivatives markets issues, and served as a manager responsible for regulatory oversight of the U.S. stock and options exchanges.

Mr. Walinskas is a graduate of both the Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Maryland at College Park.
