Join us on Bürgenstock in September !

Here we just celebrated our Anniversary Convention and already we are getting ready for the next one, the 25th to be held on the lovely grounds of Bürgenstock (one was in Montreux). This anniversary convention will take place from 7th to 11th September 2005.

I cordially invite you to attend this conference, which is a unique gathering of representatives and members of exchanges, clearing organisations, market participants and regulatory agencies – in short, a great occasion to meet a lot of important and interesting people from within our industry.

As a trial we have decided to add one day this year to allow us more time to address the various topics that concern our industry. This way we can not only cover more traditional themes such as technology, products, commodities and hedge funds (among others) on our panels, but also some off-beat themes such as the relationship of the media to exchanges and ecology and derivatives. We have already lined up most interesting panels that will no doubt lead to good discussions thereafter.

The Emerging Market Forum will be held again as will the Regulator’s Meeting. The Board of your Association strongly believes in these two Forums. It is important for these participants to have their own platform but at the same time be able to participate in the main conference, facilitating the networking and cooperation between the regulators, emerging and established markets on an ongoing basis.

The Friday night theme this year is 'London - A Global Market Place' and celebrates London at the heart of the world's financial markets. London constitutes a unique concentration of international expertise and capital, with a supportive legal and regulatory system, an advanced communications and IT infrastructure and an unrivalled concentration of professional services. The businesses sponsoring this years’ conference are themselves at the centre of London's trading infrastructure. It is a great pleasure and honour to have their support!

A very special treat will await us for the opening – the Royal Air Force Red Arrows Aerobatic Team will fly their stunts just for us! That alone will be a good reason to attend and be there for the opening!
