Mr. Odermatt is member of the Cantonal Government and Director for Economy of Nidwalden. His political career started in 1990 when he was elected to the Citycouncil of Oberdorf NW. In 1996 he became its Chairman and was then elected to be a member of the Cantonal Government in 1998.

Mr Odermatt has an extensive experience in banking, having worked both with UBS in Geneva and London as well as, just prior to his political activities, with the Regionalbank at Stans.

Mr. Gerhard Odermatt is married and has three daughters; he lives his passion within his work as an active promoter of the economy of the Canton Nidwalden.
