Claudia Gabriel-Schneider is an economic and financial editor at 'Neue Zürcher Zeitung', the main Swiss economic daily newspaper in Zurich. She specializes in financial markets and investment topics in general (including investment strategy and investment instruments), market regulation, exchanges as organizations/companies and commodities. She also coordinates the economic reporting from Africa and the Middle East. She has held this position since 2000. Prior to that she studied business administration at the University of Zurich and spent one year abroad, including a training job in Chile. She then worked for five years as an editor for 'Finanz und Wirtschaft', a specialized Swiss investors newspaper. There she covered commodities, the countries of the Southern Hemisphere, Canada and general economic/investment topics with regard to the emerging markets.
