John V. Rainbolt

John Rainbolt is a Washington DC attorney with a practice involving futures and derivatives markets, an area where he drafted much of the U.S. law creating the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and later served as Commissioner and Vice Chairman as the agency was created.

He has twice chaired international subcommittees of the American Bar Association Committee on Regulation of Futures and Derivatives Markets and author of legal and trade articles in the field of market regulation.

He also has Princeton Energy/Salogen and California ISO training for wholesale electricity and natural gas markets and oversaw operations of a client’s wholesale energy broker, a period during which he built the trading operation to profit.
