Jörg Franke, born on January 7, 1941, is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RTS Realtime Systems AG. Based in Frankfurt, RTS is one of the leading worldwide ISVs (Independent Software Vendor) of electronic trading systems for financial markets. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the Berliner Effektengesellschaft AG, a finance holding company with three pillars: market making, banking and venture capital. Prior to joining the Berliner Effektengesellschaft AG, between 1988 and the end of 2000, he set up and headed the Deutsche Terminbörse (German Futures and Options Exchange) and made a name for himself by merging the Swiss and German futures exchanges to become today’s Eurex. Previously, he held senior positions in a number of financial institutions. Franke, a trained jurist, is currently chairman and member of several supervisory boards and committees. In 1999, he was inducted to the Derivatives Strategy Hall of Fame, New York.
