Tim Levene

Tim started his career at Bain & Co working in Moscow as an adviser to the Russian Government on small business privatisation. Tim spent time with Bain working in Hong Kong, Boston, London and Sydney. He spent 3 years in Sydney and was involved in the flotation of Tabcorp in 1994 and in the launch of their sports betting operation, he also played a significant role in the sale of William Hill and the acquisition of Coral in 1997. Tim launched a successful food retail business in early 1998, it now has 10 outlets throughout London. He joined Flutter.com as the founding employee in August 1999 and was extensively involved in their capital raising program in May 2000. After Betfair’s merger with Flutter in Jan 2002, Tim took on the role of Commercial Director, where he is accountable for all UK Business Development and the development of Betfair’s international business. Betfair now has partnerships in several countries around the world and customers from over 75 countries. Tim holds a BA in Russian from the University of Manchester and was educated at the City of London School. Betfair recently won the Queen’s Award for Innovation and are the UK’s Emerging Entrepreneurs of the Year.
