Vito Cavaliero

Vito was born in Istanbul (1941), starting his education there, then following it at London University (obtained BS in EE). Vito continued his study in California USA first at the University of Berkeley (obtained MS in EE) then in University of Los Angeles UCLA (obtained an MBA).

He immediately started to work for Sperry Univac (now Unisys) at their Headquarters in Pennsylvania, then was transferred to Stockholm where he participated in two Real-Time transaction oriented projects. After that Vito participated in the initial team in charge of starting Univac operations in Teheran.
In 1978 Vito left Univac after nearly 10 years of employment there to join the family business Oceantrade S.A. in Geneva, Switzerland (Oceantrade was established in 1962 with its main focus on Trade Financing). Since then Vito has been managing the development of the company orienting it also towards more technical base ventures.
One of them has been "Financial Data Services" on mobile hand held devices starting in 1990 using the one-way broadcasting approach. The platform used is the Pager infrastructure and FM Radio Side Band technologies. Recently developments have also been concentrated on Mobile Phones Systems using the GPRS network.
