Mr. Amaral is the Managing Director of BM&F (USA) Inc., the U.S. wholly owned subsidiary of the Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange (Bolsa de Mercadorias & Futuros - BM&F), the largest financial and commodities derivatives contract market in Latin America, and the most important Brazilian clearing house for futures, options, F/X cash transactions, and government bonds. He was formerly the General Counsel of BM&F and a senior economist for the Exchange Technical and Planning Division as well. Before joining BM&F, Mr. Amaral worked as an international officer and trader for Brazilian banks and foreign financial institutions. He holds bachelor degrees in law and economics, MBA in Finance (IBMEC-SP), and a Ph.D. in Law (USP-SP). He also participates on industry and government panels, as well as educational seminars and academic conferences as lecturer and panelist.
