Bürgenstock 2002 > Introduction

Join us on the Bürgenstock in September !

The 23rd International SFOA Meeting at Bürgenstock will be held from the 5th to the 8th of September 2002 with Hong Kong as special guest country. This conference remains a unique gathering of representatives and members of Exchanges, Clearing Organisations, Market Participants and Regulatory Agencies.

It is a great pleasure that Hong Kong has accepted to be our guest of honour this year. I am sure all participants can look forward to a spectacular Friday night! The theme, the changing face of Hong Kong, will of course accompany participants not only on Friday night, but during the whole conference. Asia is in the middle of big changes and this provides our industry with lots of opportunities, challenges and possibilities. Bürgenstock will be a very special opportunity to meet a lot of important and interesting people from that region.

It is our firm belief that it is of utmost importance to facilitate the networking between the established markets and the up-and-coming new markets. It is very positive to me that the co-operation with the Association of Futures Markets is expanding and therefore a special pleasure to welcome their members as well as representatives of other emerging markets to the conference again.

Big challenges have to be faced by all of us, and what better place to discuss them, share views, exchange ideas and look for better ways than in an environment of peace, silence and natural beauty. Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort has offered this perfect venue for over 125 years to all its guests and visitors. With one exception, all our conventions have been held there and we are convinced that the 2002 edition will become a worthy addition to that long list.
