Patrick Young

Patrick is Chairman of erivatives.com, publishers of controversial free global online (and PDF format) magazines (appliederivatives.com and erivativesreview.com) devoted to tradable markets with 35000 readers in 130 countries.

Following "Capital Market Revolution" (FT Prentice Hall 1999), his heavily updated chronicles of the impact of technology on financial markets "New Capital Market Revolution" (Texere) will be published in October. During 2002 Patrick also wrote the management report "The Promiscuous Investor" (erivatives.com) about the changing face of investor and intermediary behaviour.

Formerly a broker, analyst and independent trader, Patrick consults to leading banks, brokers and exchanges worldwide. A passionate innovator, he has been heavily involved in the development of new products including single stock futures (with LIFFE and Bourse de Montreal), and sports trading (as a founder of the Intrade exchange sports exchange).

Patrick is a regular guest on CNBC Europe Squawkbox and a media commentator in leading financial journals and digital media.

He lives between Monaco, Italy and various airport lounges. In the nanoseconds between travel and work, his interests include film, opera and ballet. He has infrequent experience of historic car rallying, most of it unpleasant!
