Since 1990 Daniel Carr has directed the European, Middle East and Asian Pacific marketing for NYMEX from their London office, which he also manages. From 1985 to 1989 he was an oil consultant principally to the International Petroleum Exchange and F & B (UK) Ltd. The previous three years he worked in London and New York for E D & F Man (International) Ltd, establishing their oil futures and options broking business. From 1971 he was an oil trader and a director of Mabanaft Ltd in London, trading refined petroleum products and crude oil, during that time he became a founding director of the International Petroleum Exchange. He is involved with the Institute of Petroleum where he co-directs with Invincible Energy the Trading Oil on International Markets and Price Risk Management in the Oil Industry courses. These are run at Churchill College, Cambridge University. He is also a visiting lecturer at a number of other oil-related courses in Cambridge, London and Singapore. He has previously held positions with Amoco Europe, Albright and Wilson and Shell Canada Ltd. He graduated with honours in geology from McGill University in Montreal and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London and of the Institute of Petroleum.
