John Tierney is Managing Director, International, of the Options Industry Council, which is an umbrella organisation involved in promoting responsible use of equity options for the 5 US equity options exchanges and the Options Clearing Corporation. John has responsibility for all OIC activity in Europe and the Asia/Pacific Region. Prior to this, he was for a number of years on the Board of GNI, at that time the largest broker of exchange-traded derivatives products in London, where he was intimately involved in setting up and running a number of businesses in fixed income and derivatives markets. Previously he was involved in the broking and/or trading activities of Goldman Sachs and National Westminster Bank. Mr Tierney is a Member of the Securities Institute and in the distant past graduated as a BA (Hons) in Economics at the University of Reading. His interests include mountain walking in its various forms.
