After completing his studies in technical mathematics at the Technical University of Vienna, Stefan Zapotocky became the assistant to the Head of Human Resources at Erste Österreichische Spar-Casse-Bank in 1976. At this bank, he was Head of Strategic Corporate Planning from 1980 to 1985 and from 1985 to 1988 he was Head of New Issues. In 1988, he changed employers and moved to Österreichische Länderbank where he took the position as the Head of Securities and New Issues. He has been the Head of the Securities Division since 1991 (today: Asset Management) at Bank Austria. Stefan Zapotocky played an important role in all major new issues on the Austrian capital market and has vast experience in the organization and management of securities and asset management. He was the founding member of the Supervisory Board of ÖTOB AG to which he belonged until it merged with the former Council of the Vienna Stock Exchange to form Wiener Börse AG.
