Jim Paul, a thirty-one year veteran of the futures industry is currently a Senior Vice President of Carr Futures and manager of their Energy Group. During his career, he has been a Retail Broker, Branch Manager, Floor Trader and an Individual Speculator. After eight years on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange trading floor, Jim joined Dean Witter in 1986 as Vice President and Futures Research Director and was First Vice President and Manager of Dean Witter’s Energy Futures Group from August 1993 until August 1997. The sale of the Dean Witter Futures Division by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter to Credit Agricole prompted formation of CARR FUTURES. Jim is responsible for an institutional sales and floor execution staff of thirty-six. He wrote and starred in CME’s 3-part training film for brokers and traders, "Be the Master of Destiny", and co-authored the recently published book, "What I learned Losing a Million Dollars" Jim holds a BA in Economics, an MBA, and has had the honor of serving on the Boards as well as key committees of numerous exchanges and regulatory agencies. He has lectured on aspects of the futures markets to audiences around the world as a representative of his employers, as well as various futures exchanges, industry organizations and educational conferences.
