Joseph Macchia (45) is a member of the Board of Directors of the Company and among his responsibilities are the e-commerce initiatives. Mr. Macchia joined Liberty Brokerage Inc. in 1986 as the Vice President of Telecommunications and then became the head of all technology and systems in 1991. In 1992, he become a Managing Director with responsibility for overseeing the growth and development of new businesses, including Liberty EurAsia Ltd. and Liberty Brokerage Securities Inc. (LBSI). Over the next several years, Mr. Macchia assumed the additional responsibilities of President of LBSI and Director of Liberty EurAsia Ltd. In 1997, Mr. Macchia became the President and CEO of Liberty Brokerage Investment Corp. and a member of the Board of Directors and assumed his current responsibilities upon consummation of the merger. Mr. Macchia has over 20 years of experience in the financial marketplace. He has been Director for Freedom International Bond Brokers in Toronto and was on the founding committee of GovPX. He started his career at AT&T in technical marketing and sales to the financial industry. He has been actively involved with a number of industry trade groups, including the Bond Market Association. Mr. Macchia received his B.A. from Adelphi University and has done his M.B.A. work at Baruch University in New York City.
