Frederick Grede, aged 48, is the Chief Operating Officer of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. ("HKEx"), and Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange. Before joining HKEx in April 2000, he was the Executive Vice President of Planning and Operations at the Chicago Board of Trade ("CBOT"). He joined CBOT in 1974 and during his term of employment held various executive positions in both the Administration and Planning Division(s) and the Office of Investigations and Audits. He was also a Director of the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce from 1992 to 1998, and a member of the Business Conduct Committee of the National Futures Association from 1993 to 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University School of Law.
